However, their chakra is too weak to notice them and Hanabi points out that the artefact is too big to be taken through the cave by a single person. During the fight, Hanabi and her team-mates hear the Hyuga clan leader's proclamation that the Hyuga clan would call off the mission if the team did not return with the artefact. In response, Hanabi noted that Namida, who is still a student, is not ready for the mission. The other students liked her, and she had a lot of fun doing school activities with them, such as playing make-believe and enjoying tea together. Later that evening, Hanabi and the other students witness a battle between the Hyuga clan and its former enemy, Kishimoto Clan, and Hanabi's team is tasked with escorting a valuable artefact back home. She then sees her father, who expects a long journey as the Hyuga clan's clan members are heading to the caves of the newly reformed Kishimoto clan to settle the score for their recent defeat. Hanabi and her team then depart to escort the artefact back home.

She became determined to see to it that Uzumaki Naruto (as well as her father and brother) were safe, and decided that the Hokage's duty was even more important than the Hyuga clan's one.
