A summary picture Before starting, however, a question of method must be clarified. What are the aspects that define a startup ? The report refers to three essential characteristics , the first of which (indispensable) must necessarily be associated with at least one of the following two criteria. Startups are companies : created for less than 10 years characterized by the use of (highly) innovative technologies and/or business models conducive to significant growth .
Those reached by the European mobile number list artup Monitor (ESM) were born in of cases from individual initiative, drawing on own finances or through crowdfunding strategies . Only 10% (approximately) of startups derive from a spin-off of a university (9.7%) or an existing company (9.6%). Most startups, however young, are already in a mature phase and have managed to place their brand on the market through the marketing of a product or service, making themselves recognizable to a wide range of customers. Two out of ten startups are still experiencing a startup phase.
In this case the "founders" declare that they are still involved in a product and service development process and therefore have not generated any income. On the other hand, there are few (1.3%)startups that have consolidated and established themselves on the market as highly competitive players on a national scale. A fact that does not discourage at all. On the contrary, strengthened by the levels of innovation they believe they have introduced into their startups, 51.5% of the founders see themselves projected into the near future on the international market, thanks above all to the technological innovations introduced.
