UPDATE 3: I'm now using the French Windows Update page to download the updates. The English ones are still being downloaded. I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining. It's taken me all day to get these updates installed, so I'll be happy enough if I can get these installed in the future. :)
UPDATE 4: I've just been told that the updates are now available through the French site. I'm going to try to get the updates onto my computer now, but if I get it wrong, I'll come back and let you know. :)
This is a very good idea... I am upgrading my Computer to Win7, and I am reading about the new features in Win7. I am looking forward to this new upgrade. I have had many problems with my PC and I am going to try to find a way to do this upgrade without wasting time. I am very excited to upgrade my Windows 7.
I found this on another forum... you can actually redirect to the French windowsupdate site, which seems to be working fine and allows you to get your updates. I'm trying this out right now... so far so good. I just hope it doesn't install a french version of these updates. :)
I'd be a little hesitant to do this, since your updates will be for French Windows, and I don't know if there are any French language specific updates... but if you're confident in the reliability of the site, go for it. You can always use the French version to refresh your language settings. I've been using this method successfully for the past 6 months.
