You can use several different ways, example: AssemblyXML, Shared MSIs and many more. If you are looking to build a complex package, then keep reading. The tools above are able to pack Win32 EXE or OLE installer packages. The very first I got involved in Win32 packages was when Microsoft sent the source code for installing the Framework Bounds.app on the entire Windows family. That is - what else can you do with the extracted XML file Open it in a text editor and follow the instructions in the XML file. Once you do that, tools like WiX begin to take advantage of the software.
